Title:
WebSphere Foundation Update and Technical Direction
Stream:
Application Platform 1 (1)
Speakers:
Ian Robinson
Abstract:
This is a big year for WebSphere Application Server (WAS) as we deliver full support for Java EE 7 and Java SE 8 along with other innovative application technologies - at the same time providing the WAS platform in an increasing number of cloud environments and with a choice of new business models. Portability across a variety of cloud platforms demands an open approach to container provisioning and management, along with an application experience that can easily expose and consume cloud services. I'll talk about all the latest WAS announcements and discuss the strategic direction of WAS, including the evolution of portable, open and composable dockerized application patterns and our progress on putting WebSphere Liberty at the heart of every cloud.
