Abstract:
This session will look at two key WebSphere appliances aimed at the Application Infrastructure space. Namely the WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance and the new DataPower XC10 Caching Appliance. The IBM WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance (WebSphere CloudBurst) is a cloud computing appliance that manages WebSphere products in a cloud environment. It was first announced at IBM's Impact conference in 2009. In June this year version 2.0 was released with a number of new features and upgrades. The first half of this session will look at the new capabilities of WebSphere CloudBurst, the platforms it supports and the WebSphere products that can be dispensed. Announced this year at IBM's Impact 2010 SOA conference was the IBM WebSphere DataPower XC10 appliance. This is a purpose-built, appliance designed for simplified deployment, performance, and hardened security at the caching tier of your enterprise application infrastructure. Greg will run through the appliance capabilities while keeping it in context with WebSphere eXtreme Scale.
