Abstract:
Building a New Insurance Channel Solution using WebSphere BPM, BAM and BEP \n\nThis session will discuss and demonstrate a solution built for a large US insurer where the insurer is developing a new capability to provide life insurance policies online. The insurer have an existing WebSphere Message Broker integration backbone to mediate between the new channel and their existing systems. In addition to leveraging the existing ESB technology the customer's line-of-business users require the capability to monitor the performance of the business or the ability to detect and respond to unpredictable business situations as they arise. This is a key requirement as they roll out this new channel. \n\nThe solution shows the new process running on WebSphere Process Server using WebSphere Message Broker as the ESB to mediate to existing systems and adding the capability to analyse, sense and respond to business events using Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) and Business Event Processing (BEP). \n\nPresenters:- \nLee Gavin \nLee is a BPM specialist working for the WebSphere BPM Black Belt team with a primary focus on building Business Activity Monitoring solutions for customers especially where a broad portfolio of technologies are involved including the WebSphere BPM and Connectivity stacks as well as non IBM technologies. \n\nPaul Smith \nPaul is a BPM specialist working in the WebSphere Tiger Team focussing on BPM solutions for IBM customers ranging across the portfolio from Business Strategy and Modelling to Process Automation and Business Activity Monitoring.
